The news of the death of Lady Wilde will excite feelings of greatest pity. Sbe was a woman of great culture and refined artistic tastes, and her writings and paintings were at one time much appreciated by her own circle of friends. She literally worshipped her favourite son, and followed his successful career with all a mother's love and pride. Who then can measure her woe when she heard the terrible truth, or wonder that he did not long survive her son's disgrace !

The death of Lady Wilde at the present moment is, for reasons which need not be gone into, inexpressibly sad. Her intellectual gifts were of a high order. She had all the sprightly mental qualities of the race to which she belonged, and these were supplemented and rounded off by literary culture and refinement. Even her prose writings were marked by vigour and polish, but it was as a graceful versifier that she was best known. Formerly she was a prominent figure in society and in the haunts of the literary Forld, but her declining days were darkened by bitter and cruel misfortunes.

One of ours fell into the toilet; she went through a phase of splashing the toilet water with her hand. BlueLoo blue scalp on her when I pulled her out. Didn’t have your commitment to get the photo though. Would have been nice for her 21st.

Ich beschreibe den Vorgang genauer, weil dieser Versuch gut gelang, und bei einem sachverständigen Arzte angestellt, den besten Aufsebluss über die Wirkung des Cocains auf das Rückenmark abgiebt. Ich führte in gewöbnlicher Weise die Punktionsnadel unter Schleich- scher Infiltrationsanästhesie ein. Diesen Bingriff empfand H. als Druck, nicht als Schmerz. Um 7 Uhr 38 Minuten abends spritzte ich ½½ cem einer 1 proc. Cocain- Lösung (0,005 g) ein. Beinen. Dabei empfand I. ein Gefahl von Wärme in beiden Der Pals betrug 75 Schläge in der Minute. Nach 7 Minuten wurden Nadelstiche am Oberschenkel als Druck, Kitzeln an der Fusssohle kaum noch empfanden. Nach 8 Minuten wurde ein kleiner Hautschnitt am Oberschenkel als Druck, das tiefe Durehziehen einer stumpfen grossen und krummen Nadel durch die Weichteile des Oberschenkels nicht im| schmerzhaft empfunden. Nach 10 Minuten wurde eine grosse gestielte Nadel bis auf den Oberschenkelkuochen eingestossen, ohne den geringsten Schmerz zu er-zeugen. Sehr starkes Kneifen der Haut und Fassen und Quetschen mit einer Hakenpincette wurde als Druck empfunden. Nach 11 Minuten: Am Arme ist das Schmerzgefübl stark herab- gesetzt. Nach 13 Minuten: Eine breanende Cigarre wird an den Beinen als Hitze, aber nicht als Schmerz empfanden. fuhl von Kalte. It was majestic. I think I had read August Bier’s paper about their first experiments at spinal anaesthesia around that time. It deserves to be out there in the wild (with all due respect to wonderful colleagues who are cut from similar cloth to us pharmacists/great #medsafety allies).
