Finished it yesterday! It’s pretty good. It’s a slow burn for most of the book then everything happens at once. I really like it though!

Maybe you could create/use the interface from the dependency then import the version you want specifically and implement the interface?

Seems like what you’re asking for could break your dependency. After all if it needs v1.1.0 and you force it to use v0.0.9 it might not be compatible.

I think you can create a module that has its own go.mod that specifies the version of the dependency that module uses.

I could be wrong about this though. I don’t usually have more than one go mod in a project.

Are you trying to use a specific version of a dependency? Or trying to replace a dependency with something local?

I really like the simplicity of Go. Jumping into legacy Go code is also much easier because of the one way to do it.

I also don’t think ai is going to go further than code completion and comment writing.
