New paper in Imaging Neuroscience by Théo Lambert, Alan Urban, et al:

Functional ultrasound imaging and neuronal activity: How accurate is the spatiotemporal match?

doi.org/10.1162/IMAG...
clembrunner.bsky.social
From our study, fUS can be seen as a robust estimator of local spiking as both signals are linearly correlated with minimal spatial spread.

Changes in fUS amplitude, shape, or extent have proportional counterparts in spike rate.

Congratulations to the team 🥳

🚨New from Urban Lab @openfus.bsky.social
in @imagingneurosci.bsky.social

We combined fUS & Neuropixels in awake mice to test how well fUS reflects neuronal spiking. We targeted 3 visual regions during stimulus-evoked activity.

How reliable is fUS vs spikes?
