The EU Common Fisheries Policy is delivering results for fishers and for nature - when well applied.

France currently holds a gruesome record in Europe: tens of thousands of seabirds are dying annually off French coasts, caught in fishing gear targeting species like hake, sea bass, and tuna.

This tragedy remains largely invisible, as most bycaught seabirds drown without washing ashore.

These proposals are part of a broader pattern of attacks, from weakening the EUDR to cutting down protections against chemicals and pesticides, opening the door to increased pollution.

This dismantling goes beyond environmental policy - it undermines democratic accountability.
