Well, I hate to say it but I think you're giving the average American voter too much credit. The lies from the Right WERE effective. And the Left did little to push back. They just hid from the conversation for the most part.

If Biden made a fatal error it was allowing the perception that he was "doing nothing" on immigration. He never made it a front and center issue until it was too late. Dems think it's a bad issue for them so they don't like talking about it.

Totally agree. I used to think that Orban's Hungary was a worst case for America under Trump. But we are well beyond that threshold already after only a year.
