However, the difference appeared to result from non-iodised food sources, not added salt per se.

I've been having a think about this and I'm not sure that it would account for the difference meaningfully. If we take thge results of Bowman 2020, the ~1300 mg reduction in sodium in vege diets would easily account for the iodine difference IF it were solely from added table salt...

To be honest, mate, I'm not 100% sure! I pretty much just formulate products and give industry-specific advice at the board level. But it's a good company and there'll be more info provided to people who register interest.
