If you view creative process as a grind and not the closest you'll get to divinity then idk what to tell you, there are plenty of more profitable grinds out there besides art.

I've been seeing a lot of pixel artists struggle with Bluesky's image compression, so I'd thought I'd share how to get clear, crisp pixels on the site!

When uploading to Bluesky, remember to resize your works to 800%! Why? Images are converted to .jpeg when uploaded. .jpeg compresses the image into 8x8 pixel blocks. If a block has more than one colour, that dreaded compression occurs!

Pixel artists! 🗣

When posting your art on here, if you don't want it completely mangled, export at 16x the original size (or a multiple of 8) because JPEG processes blocks of 8 pixels. At 16x, the artifacts are very minimal, and similar to JPEG quality of 100%, even with a quality of 20%!
