I would really like to see pundits/politicians/media/etc deliver an affirmative defense of why this is a necessary policing power instead of just starting from the assumption that any attempt to get rid of it is definitionally hysterical and unserious.

The UK has declined a US request to help invade Greenland. UK officials have instead met with their counterparts from Germany and France to begin preparations for deploying a defensive force in Greenland. The goal is to protect Greenland from invasion or attacks.
