Lifelong anxiety prepared me for this moment.

She/her. I love dogs and science and hate bigots.

Newly adopted by #uglydogs.
There are many reasons I think djt should go to jail, but bathroom carpet can be added to that list.

Ah, admitting he is incontinent.

Horrifying. The party of violence.

I’ve been feeling pretty helpless lately, which is hard. I’m usually a person of action.

Vimes Boot Theory is genius. Also, ISWM really tells the story of what happens when hate about a particular group spreads, which seems like something we should all be aware of (looking at my own country with a hard stare).

It sucks. I am here to support if anyone needs it. I know what it’s like to be in the dark and feel unable to continue. Although now I feel angry and like fighting more than anything.

Pratchett has long been one of my favorite authors. Revisiting Discworld feels a bit like visiting an old friend.

And thank you.

I forgot all about the. Might need to reread them with my nephew.

Okay, so I agree..a bit. The US is gigantic, geographically. I feel like many residents don’t get that. We ARE taking to the streets. But also, kinda hard to quantify an entire nation compared to a much smaller one ,

Most of the people I know don’t have guns. Sure, lots of people do, but many of them are the ones still supporting what is happening. I know nothing about guns other than they kill people.

Daily I have to remind myself that this is actually happening. It’s so horrible it feels like a satire.

Sadly aware of this. Somehow my state voted to keep the regs that allow it in prisons recently.

Actually, some of the countries people are being deported to are well
known for enslaving prisoners. And they are classifying those refugees as prisoners.

Charles de Lint is another great rec. Lots of social commentary interwoven with North American indigenous tribal mythology. A bit darker than Terry Pratchett, but I loved them just as much.

The first book of his I read was the Wee Free Men. Loved it, immediately was hooked, and have since read them all. I think you can really start anywhere.

Had to get on here just for an Adonis update. He is majestic.

Oh good. Another day of her saying she is concerned and doing nothing about it.

Even though we barely know each other, this made me cry a little. I’m here! Fostering dogs, fighting fascists, loving my friends and family, caring for my community. But I’ve been offline a lot to do all that.

Sending you the biggest hugs from California.

The call came from inside the house. Any history buffs here who can point to another downfall as quick and self-inflicted? Or do we get that award too.

Oh, fuck these people arresting this person who literally risked their life for the US military. Apologies for the language, this makes me feel rage.

I do appreciate your optimism, but we have plenty of communities that don’t even have access to safe drinking water, or ways to heat their homes. Travel is a luxury, even the most budget friendly versions.

I feel like you don’t understand the extreme poverty that many people even here live in my friend. Many people can’t even afford to get regular meals, or get to a job or doctor that is further than walking distance away. Much less get on a bus.
