I have been seeing the Academy Awards broadcast with these four amazing friends for this and the last 45 years. The fact that we can be here with our kids, their partners and our granddaughter makes this year that much better. #oscars

My political understanding of this moment, although painful and depressing, is that much of our society, and the very people around me & in my life, are now actively against democracy, & cheering on autocracy, oligarchy and plutocracy, celebrating the loss of freedoms and ideals that I treasure.

As I watch friends and family twist themselves into knots justifying their support of an obviously corrupt and evil candidate, this plays in my head.
