It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

Just an interesting phenomenon: BlueSky has become a much better way to share news articles or threads like #FridayNightZillow than other social media I consume/post on. The algorithm doesn't punish news/links, bots are fewer?, high signal-to-noise ratio in comments, etc.

Have you ever heard someone go off, and their words are so perfectly chosen, so well said in that moment, that you’re in awe? You think, “There’s nothing to add here,” and you applaud in your head.

That’s exactly this. Pure perfection. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I have such a hard time accepting what has happened to the party that I joined when I was old enough to vote. I disagreed with some of its policies, as I do now with my current party. But the Republican Party traveled so far from its path that I had to reluctantly part company years ago.
FLASHBACK: These humane immigration answers from Bush & Reagan show it’s the Republican Party that has become much more extreme.

Think either of these guys could even come close to winning a Republican primary these days? 😬
