DC Transportation Equity Network’s #WeekWithoutDriving reminds us not everyone drives. Sidewalks, bike & bus lanes, & WMATA make DC one of the most connected cities in the US. Let’s keep investing in a safe, accessible network for people of all ages/abilities.🚶‍♀️🚲🚍 @ggwash.org

Tonight begins Yom Kippur, a day of atonement, renewal, and hope. As many of our shared values are under threat, may this time guide us toward a better path ahead. Wishing a meaningful reflection and fast to all observing.

Starting today, families receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) will see an increase in child support passthrough payments from $150 to $200 per month.

Thank you to @dcattorneygeneral.bsky.social and @cmfrumin.bsky.social for your partnership in securing this increase.

Starting today, DC’s most vulnerable families will receive a significant increase in child support dollars.

Too many DC residents are struggling to make ends meet, and this is a long overdue step towards helping District kids get all the financial support available to them.

A strong local economy means opportunity for all. Great to join Chase as they open their new Ward 3 branch. Alongside consumer banking, J.P. Morgan Chase has invested $1B+ in DC affordable housing & community services. Glad to see that impact reaching Ward 3 residents & businesses.

The arts connect us & strengthen DC's community spirit, and I was happy to celebrate at the Mayor’s Arts Awards last week🎭🎶🎨

Congrats to every nominee & winner from Ward 3 & all DC for inspiring creativity & culture - including the UDC School of Arts & Sciences & DC SCORES.

The Council voted to rename the Connecticut Ave Bridge over Klingle Valley as the Judith E. Heumann Memorial Bridge. I was honored to introduce the bill recognizing a pioneer of disability rights and a Ward 3 resident. This ensures her legacy lives on.
