I built a model of the Brooklyn Bridge from a kit as a teenager. Whoever made the kit included a tiny For Sale sign.

*The main kitchen was on the ground floor and then the basement was fitted out as a studio - one big room with a kitchen and bath. When my grandfather was still teaching at UC Berkeley they rented the studio out to various grad students and postdocs who worked in his lab.

The only reason people were able to do this at our family Thanksgivings when I was younger is that my paternal grandparents had a huge house with two kitchens*. And even with two kitchens, it was preferred that people brought dishes already cooked. Which most people did.

Skunks are actually pretty chill if you give them their space. I’ve had an entire family walk past me without reaction because I just stopped what I was doing and let them pass. Skunks have the right of way.

There is also Ray Manzarek’s Carmina Briana which is weird. I believe the Baltimore Consort did a version with arrangements closer to what music was like when the songs were written (and also using the full texts - Orff edited severely.)
