Am I ready for a solid month at the beach? Starting Tuesday I become a camp host in G Loop at Assateague State Park. I’ll be that guy selling you firewood and ice, and most importantly shoveling horse poop off the road. We’ve known some great camp hosts, and I’m excited to join their ranks.

My wife was casually filming the hatchlings in our cardinal nest when this happened. A one in a million shot. She admitted later that it gave her a case of empty nest syndrome.

I've been waiting for this. I started watching Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge's live stream osprey cam a couple of weeks ago. The amazing part of the stream is the audio—crystal clear. Tonight I can hear it: the unmistakable cry the spring peepers. www.friendsofblackwater.org/camhtm.html

It appears that, with the exception of Assateague State Park's 855 acres, the entirety of Assateague Island is now under the direct control of DOGE in the person of the former CEO of a Texas oilfield equipment mfg. & dist. co. thehill.com/policy/energ... Pray for our parks and rangers.
