My wife was casually filming the hatchlings in our cardinal nest when this happened. A one in a million shot. She admitted later that it gave her a case of empty nest syndrome.

Remember: Treat Assateague's wild horses like bears. They're wild, dangerous, and can hurt you badly. Worse, you can hurt them badly just as easily. Give them space and respect, and keep everyone safe. (Thanks to Seaside Vacations & Sales, Chincoteague Island over on FB for the April Fool's smile.)
