He’s done after next year. The funny thing is that Michael Bennet, whose Senate term is up in 2029, is running to succeed him. If he wins, he’ll step down as Senator and appoint the replacement, which might be Polis… or maybe not.

Either way, I’m voting for AG Phil Weiser in the Dem primary.
What happens when a U.S. senator from Colorado leaves their job midterm (as Michael Bennet may do)
If U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet wins Colorado’s 2026 gubernatorial race, he would have to quit his Washington job in the middle of his term. Here’s how his seat would be filled.

I didn’t know until I looked it up that he retired in 1974, so I was thinking that maybe he had some amazing career longitivity.

I’m not going and looking at the replies for two reasons:

1. Katz’s skeet is 100% correct. There’s a reason why birthright citizenship is more or less the norm in the Americas, even if it isn’t elsewhere.

2. I know that the replies are full of artisanal Bluesky nonsense. (Hat tip to you.)

Sepp Blatter’s personal brand of corruption was more subtle and behind the scenes — a youth development grant here, a tournament there, a well-paid, no-show job for a relative of the right person when circumstances require.

I’m not sure if he would’ve been quite this shameless.

And none of those products were the first of their genre. Every one of Apple’s home runs were incremental improvements on already existing products.

I mean, it’s one big, long, drawn-out lotto drawing.

And the worst part is that everyone feels like they have to ape it. I was watching the Open Cup draw on YouTube last year, it was just a couple of US Soccer employees IIRC, and I was thinking “Wrap it up, y’all.”
