What were your first four commander decks?

I was kind of a pain in the ass to play against in my early years, ngl. I try to play more interactive, aggressive strategies nowadays, instead of just competing to take the most game actions.

Nothing's more satisfying than flipping over the pot at the end and getting a beautiful tahdig layer.

🍽️Made a feast for my friends on my birthday. Naz khatoon, jujeh kebab, ghalieh mahi, and tahdig rice, with a big plate of herbs, pomegranate, and flatbread.🍽️

Thanks to @byelacey.bsky.social for precisely capturing the vibes of my dear departed Kiva. She was the best dog.

🍽️ Pistachio drop cookies with brown butter icing, from Sally's Baking Addiction. One of my favorite cookies to make. This batch is for a cookie contest we're having at work tomorrow. The Cookie Crown shall be mine! 🍽️

Spud loves this stuff more than any dog treats I could ever give her.

Just threw it in a pan with the onions and mushrooms with some olive oil and a little salt.

🍽️ Made an absolutely banging curry mee for Father's Day with some sauce that my friend brought back for me from Malaysia. Made with shrimp, eggplant, green beans, shallots, mushrooms, and rice noodles. Even better the second day. 🍽️

🍽️ Mushroom and kale lasagna, from Six Season, by Joshua McFadden and Martha Holmburg. Went the extra mile with homemade noodles. Really lovely dish, but I think there's room in its flavor landscape for something a little more. Will have to be creative next time. 🍽️

🍽️ Went a little crazy with the holiday cookies this year. Clockwise from the top: White chocolate chai snickerdoodles, lemon thumbprint cookies, red velvet whoopie pies, shortbread pistachio drops, and lace sandwich cookies with dark chocolate filling. 360 cookies in all. 🍽️

🍽️ Lemongrass coconut tofu curry and rice. My dad's favorite meal I make, which is high praise from a Midwestern meat and potatoes guy. Originally based on a recipe from Milk Street's Tuesday Nights, although I've tweaked the heck out of it over the years. 🍽️

From wikipedia, here's a simulation of a fluid flowing past a cylinder. Note that this only happens within a narrow range of flow conditions. If the flow is too slow or the obstruction is too small, the vortexes won't swap. Too fast or too big, and you just get chaotic turbulence.

Ghalieh mahi and chelo ba tahdig. Turned out quite tasty, although I turned down some of the spicy and sour to appeal to my mom's palate. Next time there will be more tamarind and hotter peppers. I'm also 100% sold on the nonstick pan tahdig method. 🍽️

Spud is pretty photogenic.

🍽️Not my best tahdig, but pretty decent for trying out a new technique on someone else's stove.🍽️

Pasta carbonara with spinach salad and some rather hastily made garlic bread. The main dish was lovely - will absolutely make it again in the future. The bread was a little slow to rise, and ended up being dense and chewy. Probably what I get for using the last scoop of yeast in the bottle. 🍽️
