And here's the cargo train terminal as well as the railyard. This will improve the city's trade connections to neighbouring regions significantly! I know the railyard isn't properly integrated into the city, but that'll come in the future.

Additional landfill to handle all the trash being produced, The first one was almost full.

Also see that empty space between those streets? That's space for a planned cargo rail station :)

The proposed solution is to divert the highway and turn it into a bypass road that connects to the city streets at multiple places. This allows people to bypass the town to get closer to where they need to go, minimizing their time in the city streets.

The main problem with traffic in Trinity Gate is that all traffic going deeper up the peninsula needs to go through the entire town and all traffic shares the same streets. The highway easily has enough capacity for the traffic, but the city street network does not.

All the town's growth has lead to some traffic problems 😅

Some solutions are being discussed, but a simple one has already been implemented: widening the 2-lane main street to 4 lanes, sacrificing some parking spaces.

Closeup of the tip of the peninsula. The castle and cemetary ruins have been surrounded with a big city park, and the development around it is almost exclusively low density housing. The coastal quay is lines with seaside villas and waterfront shops.

Trinity Gate has just reached a huge milestone: it finally reached the tip of the peninsula and therefor built up the entirety of it!

Although this is of course a huge achievement, it also comes with a challenge: the times of easy expansion are over.

More city growth! The town is creeping further towards the tip of the peninsula. Now, the town proper also has its first connection with the coast, creating a nice waterfront with a new shopping district.

Also includes the first low-rent highrise :)

This is the Heath Pub. The building is pretty new, but already becoming a trendy meeting spot for young people and a hot spot for political and philosophical discussions.

Trinity Gate is growing ever further towards the tip of the peninsula. The town also managed to finally aquire some land west of the industrial area, allowing it to expand away from the town center instead of towards it.

Also bonus shot of the industrial waterfront :)

The first schools in the town have been built, an elementary school and a high school.
I really quite like the setup of the high school ^^

Look at this cinematic shot of the town :)
Love how the town has this higher density strip along the main street and then low density housing around it.

The town's first recreational waterfront! Still very small and really only meant for the local residents, but it is a start of what will become a huge set of waterfronts across the city.

With the new growth come new tensions, as the industry continues to expand, blocking the view to the sea even more. If the city can't find a way to expand the industry in the other direction, away from the residential area, more unrest will arise.

The old pumping station was decommisioned and shortly afterwards torn down and replaced with an office building.
November 1, 2025 at 2:44 PM
Turns out: not all was safe. Shortly after the construction, a major outbreak of diseases related to polluted drinking water arose. It didn't take long for the current mayor to be thrown out of office. The new mayor immediately built a surface water pump station on the other side of the peninsula.
November 1, 2025 at 2:44 PM
The second - and bigger - controversy happened with the construction of the landfill. Experts warned that on the planned location it would be on the same water reservoir that was used by the groundwater pump, but the mayor ignored those warnings, claiming all would be safe.

The town's development started with two controversies. The first happened when the new coal power plant was built. A lot of citizens were unhappy that their view of the sea would be obstructed, but ultimately the financial needs of the city won out.

The town is located in the Sactuary Bay. The name "Trinity Gate" originally referred to the three castles guarding the entrance to the rivers feeding into the bay. Two of these castles create the actual gate, while the third is farther back as a backup support.

The central island is quite a juxtaposition in itself. The central portion is under extreme growth pressure with limited space, pushing the construction of more and more highrises, while the north tip is mostly single family homes and the southern tip is completely undeveloped.

The south-eastern tip of the main island is densifying in response to now being close to the university & adjacent district.

This area now sits between the city center and the university, making it a lot more attractive than it was before.

Some shots of the residential and commercial area next to the university.

A beautiful riverfront and another somewhat interesting setup for a tram depot :)
