As so many Americans slip further and further into bitterness, division, and indifference toward one another, I hope the loss of these Soldiers prompts a moment of reflection on what they lived, fought, and died for, and what we as citizens owe them and their loved ones. I will pray for them and us.

For me, this is yet another reminder that no one is exempt from harms caused by the spread of political, gun-related violence in the U.S.
