on the one hand, it's probably a good sign that turning off all the data harvesting features in Discord, YouTube etc. does in fact prevent them from showing you their yearly summaries
on the other hand, they could just be outright lying about that, so flip a coin I guess

forum and social media posts are content and their creators are content creators. big tech should be financially compensating them for use of their data, because if they can charge each other for access they can afford to pay those producing it.
