I guess it's naive of me to think Geoff Keighley of all people would be interested in making the event more inclusive, but at some point this kinda becomes an obstacle to the viability of the event. if I'm at risk of being traumatized by the content without warning then I'm just gonna tune out.

I usually don't advocate for regulatory agencies but isn't this the kind of thing that ESA, ESRB etc. is supposed to be doing to ensure content is safe for viewing for appropriate audiences?

what would TGAs draw the line at? graphic nudity and sex acts? historic concentration camp footage? as the event gets increasing large and more mainstream, expecting all audiences tuning in to be okay with such a massive range of content feels disrespectful to their needs.

the tonal whiplash going from anime gacha games and lighthearted cartoon titles, to excessive graphic violence, with zero warning, is pretty bad and really should have been much better signposted.

and I guess anyone who is photosensitive should just... what, not watch the event at all?

I saw that too! Honestly pretty cool, but we'll see if they actually follow it. SDM also added that recently but they completely ignored it when I went there last time 😾
