Thanks to your support, we’re ruining Westpac’s day. 😉

We’ve scored homepage ads on @australia.theguardian.com – with millions of readers – calling out #Westpac for breaching its updated #climate policy after only just one month, with a major deal to oil and gas company Santos.

Total respect for these nannas stopping coal ships entering Newcastle Port. Arrested (not charged). Hundrends of other climate defenders arrested and facing hefty penalties. Please donate to support all.
You asked for it!

We tracked down photos of 3 🧶👵’s, a clown (+driver) being pursued by police on Newcastle Harbour on Saturday. Nannas were finally arrested but released without charge.

Not everyone is in a position to take direct action - but we can all spread the word #ClimateAction now!

Paddling out at with mates @risingtideaus.bsky.social was fun but Nannas would rather be holding yarn than protest signs.

Get your socks on @albomp.bsky.social Show us Aussies your “pattern” to get off gas and coal and work together with us and workers to sew a better future.

Newcastle Port now closed to coal ships! Wish we had drone footage of 5 Nannas in a tinny breaching 100m exclusion zone in an ‘exciting back &forth with police boats’. (Observers report). No arrests. Harbour authorities closed the port to coal ships. @risingtideaus.bsky.social

Beaut post from @risingtideaus.bsky.social Today’s paddleout to confront the coal ships. People Power.
This is civil disobedience‼️ We've asked 'nicely' for decades. Disobeying institutions that abuse power to deliberately harm those less powerful is a vital tenant of a healthy democracy. There is still time to join is at #RisingTide 👇🏽

This man’s values are based in power, greed and division. They are so far removed from the values of the Australian people.
We need a government that has the courage to stand up to him, reject his racism, reject US bases and forge an independent peaceful path for Australia.

Awesome news.
Adani have formally dropped their 5 1/2 year SLAPP court action against Ben Pennings.

To end the case, Ben proposed a very minor restriction to his political freedom.
20,000+ Australians donated $1.2m for Ben’s legal fund.
