2024 was my year of the werewolf, and the LEARN TO HOWL trilogy is COMPLETE!

Now you can get Learn to Howl, Baying the Moon, and The Company of Wolves!

paperback and ebook, including HOOPLA

books2read.com/learntohowl/
books2read.com/BayingtheMoon
books2read.com/CompanyofWol...
The cover for Learn to Howl: a black wolf with blue eyes in profile on a red background, her ear pinned back and her teeth and tongue visible.

Painted by my cousin Hudson Fraser, who you can find at https://www.instagram.com/hudsonfraser.art

cover copy: When a football player follows her home from an illicit party, preacher's daughter Allie unmasks a secret her mama has been trying to pray away for almost seventeen years. The women in their family are werewolves. All except for Allie's mama.

To protect her normal life, Allie's mama dumps her off in the wilderness with three aunts she's never heard of, let alone met. But Allie hardly has a chance to find her bearings among these strangers who are family before somebody kidnaps them and burns down their ancestral home.

Allie has one high-speed road trip with her wolfier-than-thou cousin, Morgan, to learn how to make her way in a world she never knew existed
the cover for Baying the Moon: a open-mouthed wolf facing you so that you're staring down its labyrinthine throat) an at all those teeth, on a red background

painted by my cousin Hudson Fraser, who you can find at https://www.instagram.com/hudsonfraser.art

cover blurb: Six months ago, Allie believed she was a normal human girl from a normal human family. Then one terrible night lead to a breathless road trip to rescue her real family. Her werewolf family.

After a begrudging information exchange with the Ward family, Allie's Aunt Rachel has decided it's safest to wait and see what the secret medical organization Allie rescued her from does next.

But Allie and her cousin Morgan aren't risking any more of their family. Along with some other young werewolves, they hit the road again to delve into Silvernail's goals and how they found the wolves in the first place. The Company of Wolves cover: a black wolf, head turned to the left and mouth open as though its crying out, and part of it is shattering apart like broken glass or a mirror, with a bullet hole in it, revealing a haggard-looking human face beneath, just a blue eye and some black hair

painted by my cousin Hudson Fraser, who you can find at https://www.instagram.com/hudsonfraser.art

cover blurb: Allie can’t believe that Rachel means it. They have to be able to go home after everything, right? That isn’t something Morgan is willing to discuss; she’s out for blood, and the Wards are going to help her get it. They’re ‘running ops,’ as the Wards apparently call it, hitting Silvernail locations both for information and destruction. But isn’t enough for Morgan, and she gets an even better idea about how they’re going to get to Silvernail himself and end this once and for all.

This article hits home. I’ve started bringing a comfortable chair to the kitchen when cooking, moving upstairs to my office earlier in the day, and, most importantly, asking for help when I need it. The shame and guilt are still there, but I’m trying to accept my #chronicpain every day.

I drew this cartoon in 2005. Two thousand freaking five. Twenty years ago.
An elephant and a donkey

The elephant breaks a vase

Donkey: you broke that vase
Elephant: yep. What are you going to do to fix it?
Donkey: me
Elephant: that’s right. I want to hear a detailed plan from you.
Donkey: I don’t know. It probably can’t be fixed now.
Donkey: then you’re a party with no ideas and no one should ever support you.
Donkey: but you broke it!
Elephant: making messes no one knows how to fix is such great politics.

UPDATE! 🌹🎉

I realize not many people have access to much right now, so I put the eBook version of Beyond The Mark down to the lowest I could on Amazon, which is $0.99

Hope this helps it become more accessible, I'd rather continue the story than make money, so I hope you enjoy!

#Fantasy #Author
A stylized cover art for the book titled "Beyond the Mark: Ashes of the Hero," featuring a silhouette of a cloaked figure in a dark, magical forest. The figure, shrouded in shadow, is holding a glowing sword with a vibrant red hue. Intricate patterns adorn the figure's cloak, evoking a sense of mystery and fantasy. The background showcases an eerie forest with bare, twisted trees and ethereal lights, creating a mystical and foreboding atmosphere. In the distance, a castle with spires looms against a pale, glowing sky, adding a sense of adventure and danger to the scene. The title is prominently displayed at the top in bold, stylized lettering, with a vivid gradient effect that contrasts with the darker tones of the artwork. The overall composition conveys themes of heroism, darkness, and a journey into the unknown.

I did it! I published my trilogy! The full Underground Narratives are finally available wherever you get books.

Like dark urban fantasy, a hint of cosmic horror, and a lot of quirky characters? They’re interwoven stories, so start anywhere.

Three books by DJ Jones are fanned out on a dark table. The book to the left is titled Colors of the Initial Noise with a pink and blue cover featuring a close-up of an eye. The book in the center is titled Have a Black Heart of Gold with a pink cover featuring a woman running into a burning city. And the book to the left is titled The Antagonist’s Prison with a purple and blue cover featuring a man facing towards a dark city in the rain. He is askance to the left with his silhouette reflected in the puddles of rain water.

It’s intriguing that this is kind of an evolution from people *understanding* the jobs are BS to wholesale going subversive side-gig. Not like that wasn’t tacitly understood before, but the pretence being over,I think that’s significant. Next? Informal/gifting economy?Coordinated subversion? Mutiny?

This was really good.

I think a lot about AI and that none of this is sustainable. I spend my time figuring out what sustainable would actually look like and how we would get there.

The idea of parallel systems of real work/value is very resonant and intriguing, esp since it’s already happening.

It’s hard for me to enjoy social media because I never assume anyone wants to hear what I have to say. I prefer people read my books, stories and ideas I think are worthwhile. But I have to market, so I post about my process because that interests me, and hopefully it will interest someone else too.

this "passion tax" appears all over the place & should be talked about more. you see it in book stores and game stores all the time

excitement for particular work is constantly weaponized to depress wages & pit workers against each other
screenshot of a paragraph from op's linked article

Claudy pointed to what he calls the “passion tax.” Game workers, he said, often get paid less than their tech industry counterparts because they’re passionate about what they do, and passion can be taken advantage of. Microsoft is a tech company, making discrepancies all the more arbitrary.
