I’ve had my main Global G-2 chef’s knife for over 20 years. I wouldn’t bother with a set. A good 8” chef’s knife, 4” paring knife, long serrated (for bread and softer-skinned fruits), an inexpensive, flexible boning/fillet knife (Victorinox, like $20).
