At the bottom of the spreadsheet is a “METROID: LIFE” section, where I track daily life related goals. I can get missile expansions by completing each goal.

To the right of my daily calendar is a Mission Log, where I put due dates for tasks/events for the week. Completing a task turns the row green, which gives my brain a special tickle.

Hour 2 gives me the missile launcher, which allows me to play an online card game I really enjoy called “Dominion” during my lunch break or later at dinner. Each subsequent hour gives me a new reward.

After completing hour 1, I check off its corresponding checkbox and acquire the morph ball ability. This gives me access to my sketchbook, so I can draw during breaks.

I start each day with the power suit. With this suit, I can use my phone for listening to music and podcasts and other basic functions, but am unable to access YouTube or social media.

These upgrades are named after items/power-ups in the Metroid franchise, and each grants me a new ability (i.e., drawing privileges, YouTube/social media access, time for video games, etc.).

Here’s how it works: there are ~7 hours in my work day (excluding lunch), and completing each hour rewards me with a “suit upgrade".
