Today is the birthday of cartoonist, illustrator, & animator Winsor McCay (Sept. 26, 1869-July 26, 1934). Best known for the comic strip Little Nemo in Slumberland and his early work in animation, particularly on Gertie the Dinosaur (1914).

The opening chapter (which has nothing to do with stars) is this 22 page continuous sequence - starting that way has made me very attuned to the spread, wasn’t my intent, but almost all the pages of the book since take advantage of spreads - not sure I can break that habit!

Finished spread! The lives of different types of stars, the various ways they give back all they had taken in changed, and the new forms they give rise to! This took me some time to say the least! It's a lively place out there! On to the next spread (finale of this chapter!!)

A note for international folks (any country outside of the USA) - preorders for this will ship from our EU warehouse which has cheaper international rates than we have available in the US, so in all likelihood it will probably be cheaper for you to order books through the Kickstarter than later 👍
