TRON: ARES having an official collaboration with Grok and having AI slop on display at he events is making me never want to watch that movie. Ugh

I forget, did Sinister work with HE or was it Essex with Wyndham? So many retcons there.
comradebullski.bsky.social
Come on Jean let's get you to the White Hot Room.

This is pretty in-character for the HE, honestly. He's so far removed form humanity he sees everything as an experiment, and he's always been an arch-Darwinist. Cool to see some bagley X-Men as well, even if that era of X-men was... not great.

I assume the "colleague" was Sinister?

It's shocking that they didn't go to the High Evolutionary again after M-Day.

"Uh it happened again, could you..."
"Sigh okay fine."

Marrow what did they do to you

Good news, there's a ton of female Phantom comics with both Julie and Heloise in the role!

Bad news, you have to be Australian to read 'em cuz the US and UK don't get the good stuff!

Basically it's originally because Falk had the first Phantom swear the oath that his "sons" would follow him, not his children. It was a different time.

The later explanation is that the mantle goes only to the firstborn, and no Phantom had a daughter before a son. Equally weird.

One is an Italian story from the 60s where she pinch-hits for her husband, the other is a Swedish story from 1994 where she thinks her hubby is dead and dons the mantle to save her kids from Dogai Singh.

That last one is Diana in full Mama Bear mode, it's kinda amazing, awful cover aside.

In those stories it's often specified that Heloise explicitly takes inspiration from Julie in becoming the Phantom, even if her brother is also wearing the tights.

There's also two stories I know of where Diana makes a concerted effort to become the Phantom despite not being of the bloodline.

Spoiler alert since Falk wrote that story in decades past Julie ends up retiring as the Phantom because she wants to get marriiiiiiieeed and thus is one of few Phantoms who lives beyond the age of 40.

Both our side and Frew have also done What Ifs where an adult Kit and Heloise share the mantle.
comradebullski.bsky.social
That would be Julie, most likely. She was the twin sister of the 17th Phantom and for a time shared the mantle with him. She was created by Falk himself for a one-off story but she's been revisited plenty by the Swedish (Team Fantomen) stories and even the US comic.

i didn't learn until recently that the comic was originally "The Family Circle" and that's why it's always round. so since yours doesn't have an outline i guess it's more of a Chales Addams deal
comradebullski.bsky.social
Ahhhhh the Family Circus format, CURSED
comradebullski.bsky.social
You know what the best part is?

The cover box with the happy little headshots on the XM #100 homage. It's so good.

So good.

Shades of the great Steve Skroce!

I bet they'll do it in a 4-pack or 5-pack. I'd buy a Force Works set in a heartbeat if it had that Wanda and Century

High time Dazzler dabbled in... rock.

Eh.
