For sure. I will say the fur (even fake fur) or sheepskin lined ones are absolutely the way to go for serious cold weather. I have a quilt lined one too and it’s fine for a crisp fall day but not for really freezing weather.

Historically there are some minor differences to each, but they’ve all pretty much converged. Traditional ushankas are fur or sheepskin lined both inside and out and tend to have less structure but even that’s not a hard and fast rule. The rest typically have an impermeable outer lining.

Trapper hat is probably how they’ll have it inventoried though ushanka is surprisingly widespread. If you’re looking online you can also find them called aviator or bomber hats.
