An email is on its way out to our members regarding strategies for navigating cuts to federal grant funding. However, we wanted to share that information here as well. We have aggregated information for actions regarding NEH grants, which include broader strategies as well.

The NEH and IMLS have funded my employment multiple times.
I bet you know the NEH funded conservation projects and the like in museums, but sometimes it did things like this: pay my whole salary for a year to help me keep my job in a moment when education needed fundamental rebuilding coming out of the pandemic.

You’ll be seeing a lot more of this in the next few weeks.

IMLS and Federal Funding for libraries allowed libraries to make discounted purchase of databases, resources, digital content, and much more.

Very sorry to have opened up this account and then almost immediately gone radio silent -- For the sake of clarity, I'm @crowgirl42.bsky.social, one of the three folks involved in getting CAA going again, and I developed COVID almost immediately after I started this account!

Today (4/3/25) we learned that DOGE has begun terminating previously awarded NEH grants. We understand this includes operating grants to the state and jurisdictional humanities councils, scholarly societies, community orgs, & individuals.
