Also funny that you claim no one could have seen this stuff coming, that they would need a time machine to have this level of foresight, when the left has been warning about this stuff for literal decades.

They argued in court they didn't need to run a fair contest. The files leaked in the summer of 2016 show that the primary very much wasn't free or fair, they had a favorite and did everything they could short of stuffing ballot boxes to see her selected. You're just lying if you say otherwise.

They're going to Hillary-Kamala-Gavin their way into extinction by choosing unelectable candidates by compromising between their donors and the Republicans.

I just wish it weren't so costly for normal people as this party dies.

The only political commitment I'm willing to make this far out is that I will never vote for Gavin Newsom.

I've wasted so much time on trying to tell centrist Dems "It's not the obligation of the voter to conform to the needs of the candidate, you cannot possibly win a popularity contest with anonymous, non-mandatory voting this way," but all I get back is a bunch of Aaron Sorkin-ass magical thinking.

Ftom the outside, it is bizarre that the prevailing attitude from the Democratic party is "You owe us your vote." I'm not sure where that comes from, but I've yet to see it work

the positive thing is: there are less of these guys than ever. all those fucking 'confirm trump nominees for three day weekends' really killed off a lot of this kinda shit and now you got way more normie dems going 'what do you pieces of shit even do-'

it's just that what's left gets ever louder

more and more they feel shit like the transphobia and the Doing Fuck All About ICE is inevitable, that dems won't move at all no matter what, so they go through a long rigamarole to construct something that makes this 'pragmatic' while redirecting their anger towards people who will actually respond

stuck in a set of contradictions partially to try and keep their own sense of self feel morally 'clean', partially to keep faith in some kind of system/leadership, made more and more brittle as they watch the party hardly budge an inch no matter how desperate things get. it mentally fries 'em.

and the same goes with trans issues. you can maybe get them to admit california shithead number one is bad on trans issues, but once you start poking at "so maybe he, y'know... is biased against trans people, doesn't see them as equally valuable?" gets 'em into rationalization and defensiveness

a whole lot of rhetoric and policies that actively attack the poor and the homeless, but somehow never motivated by any sort of personal dislike or even indifference towards lower classes. they can maybe admit gavin treats the poor like shit, but "so he dislikes the poor, right" gets 'em titchy

"yes, they're bad on trans issues" admittance combined with defensive "but they aren't BIASED against trans people, never!" bigoted rhetoric and policies but somehow never fueled by even a flicker of actual bigotry. a whole lot of transphobia among dem electeds, but somehow no transphobes.

it flips around as needed, too. one minute going "okay yes they suck on trans rights BUT-" admitting to the problem, but if you really start prodding at it they'll flip to "actually they're VERY supportive of trans people", because the idea that their reps may be immoral/bigoted eats at them.

some will tell you "okay, yes, they suck on (x, y, z) - and we can and should pressure them" in various ways: how many of them sound like they're confident they can actually do that?

they've watched the party not budge for massive crisis after massive crisis and it is, bit by bit, itching at them.

The “Trolley Problem” is literally the thought experiment example invented to show that “lesser evil” cannot apply to moral dilemmas, and you all keep presenting it as proof that you’re morally correct, because you’re all morons and monsters.
