Every few months now I re-read this "Who Goes Nazi?" piece from 1941 and am blown away by how it captures the people we are dealing with 80 years later.

I’ll concede that. In my writing of science fiction I tend to trend pessimistic and imagine less than hopeful futures. As for genetics, yes, I know only a thin scraping off the surface of a deep pool of knowledge.

I’m too much of a pessimist to believe that human nature will change within my lifetime (unless mass gene therapy is enforced or a societal churn happens, taking society back to a stage where sweeping rewrites of policy can happen)

Perhaps education should be “patronized”. Every educator has a Patreon account and their financial ability to provide better education relies on their performance. (Probably more dystopian of a solution in practice… but what utopian solution doesn’t slide that way?)
