I think your view of longtermism is a bit exaggerated.

But also, you are wrong about it being so overwhelmingly dominant.

I said that mostly because of your comment on AI - that IS directly opposite the goal of AI safety.

AI safety folk are largely *against* "growing" "intelligences". Eg the "EA affiliated Pause AI movement literally wants LLM training to be stopped.

You *are* mistaken here.
