I “listened” to that question with my heart, not just my brain. When someone says, “love you,” I read it as “I have positive feelings for you and am sending a good vibe!”
“I love you” reads, for me, as “I’m choosing to love you - beyond fluctuating feelings.”

Great question. I noticed that in my own texts and got curious. Words matter. It may be a layer of detachment, removing the I /agency. For some, it may seem less formal. For some, a thin shield of protection from vulnerability. I want you to be loved, but… I can’t provide it fully right now.

Others’ loving behavior, even if it’s not directed at me, gives me a feeling of safety. In that safety I feel more free to express more love to others.
