freezing night.
A cruel constellation appeared.
She stopped to drop a token into the tattered
violin case.
It’s an old story:
First class, steerage
and how it all goes down.

It’s winter and a storm is raging. Remember, birds collect the blowdown - the broken pieces, dead wood, what’s been ripped away- picking up the pieces, they weave them together to create space for something new to come into being. Millions of us using life force for good.

When it’s time to create (bring something new into the world) even the solitary Heron builds its nest in community, called a heronry. Working together creates mutual support and protection from predators.

Birds don’t have permanent leaders. One bird sets off in a direction, and other birds follow. Later, the lead bird drops back and another bird takes the lead for a turn. Sometimes a bird will break from the flock and go where it’s instincts tell it. No bird ever HAS TO follow the lead bird.
