Manul on alert: Champaigne-colored eyes wide open, this cat is looking at something interesting! White-tufted ears on the side of the head, short, dark eyebrows, a super-cute snooter with little black-outlined yellow triangles on the side of its nose, a little white beard around the bottom of its muzzle.

Are you joking me? I'm going to use electrical tape to make eyebrows that slant down toward the bridge of my nose, so I look as angry as I am.

Pallas cats, mother and kitten. The kitten is on his back toes so he can embrace his mother at the neck. He looks like a fluffy grey tabby cat, with even bands of stripes on his tail and legs. The mother stares sternly into the camera lens with yellow eyes and a broad face. Her whiskers stand out forward of her kitten's face.

There's this thing called "shy canopy" where the leaves of one tree avoid another, but I think they just break off. It really depends on the angle of observation. A little elm; the branch structure maximizes collection of light.

Climbed Prospect Hill in Waltham today, the highest elevation in E. MA or metro Boston. Took these giant stairs, worked the hammies/quads in abduction/adduction, my jumping on chairs muscles. The elms are a brilliant yellow.

A brisk 52f in Waltham today at the No Kings. It was at least 6x bigger than June's. My shirt's message was well-received; ANTIFA is EVERYONE -- Wash out fascism. There was a call to wear yellow, so I did. All 4 corners of Main & Moody covered and the whole City Hall block. Brass band, inflatables.

Gloomy every which way here. Laziest nor'easter ever was a day late and still hasn't blown off. This little maple is fiery red, but my camera turns that much bright redness to pink. I don't know if you can see red from green, anyway.
Fall color: a small maple at the edge of a hillside forest; the maple has turned red for the fall season but the trees behind and the growth and the grass in the foreground is still green, some of it is yellow. It is all wet with rain.

Where is everybody?
A sea lion pup with big googly dark eyes and a vary strong whisker game. Slanted, partially opened nostril which can be pinched closed when swimming underwaterfront flippers splayed out. The tail, oh, the tail ... you can't see the back flippers, but the way the tail's girth cuts down from the body is super special.
