Fav level: The Iron Mountains (just for the shell section), The Prison Ship

I need to listen to the OST a bit more before I can give my proper opinion, and I will do so in a reply once I do.
Overall the game's okay. Great presentation (though it hasn't aged quite as well as the original) but the actual platforming is just too slow and easy to be fun.

The thoroughness with which the soundtrack uses leitmotifs beyond the "The Great Escape" motif is impressive, and something i didn't really notice while playing. There's the Sanctuary motif, the pirate motif, the "ride" motif for the shell and such, the Cave of Bad Dreams motif...

I will say the level themes are not as fun and varied as the first game, most levels slotting into either "swamp / forest" "cave / temple" or "pirate base" which gets a bit samey.

While the gameplay wasn't anything special, I enjoyed the general atmosphere and vibe of the game. Felt quite immersed into Rayman's world. Though the story is nothing special, the way it is presented is charming. The soundtrack definitely helps with this aspect.

Spent probably 40 minutes on the boss lightly bumping into the walls to destroy the homing shots and barely missing the hitbox for the ammo pickups. Designwise I like the idea and mechanics of the boss but the fact that your shots can even deal damage to him when he's down is poorly communicated.

Boss wise most of them were super forgettable. The only memorable boss is the second phase of the final boss, who was stupid hard for me because A. i didn't know you could shoot him while he was stunned and B. i didn't know there was a dev exit at the top of the arena that gives you infinite ammo.

There were some highlights though. I liked the flying barrel / running shell sections quite a lot, and the sliding sections were fun too. Basically any segment of the game where you weren't running around at 2 mile per year as Rayman was pretty cool.
