People are always like “you are so good at taking your kids places, you’re always going to fun places!” And this is because I’m awful at having them at home and they are awful at being at home. The only way to live is to constantly be at the zoo or similar.

As someone who spends a lot time thinking about the values I want to teach my kid (besides PLEASE DON’T EAT DIRT), the thing I keep coming back to is this: I want him to believe that the strongest, bravest thing he can do is give a shit about other people—especially ones who aren’t like him at all.

Having a bidet is wonderful until you travel and you have to be without it and it feels like you’re shitting in the woods

But on the flip side, I hope the universe rewards everyone who plays with children, helps families, and/or smiles at babies on planes because they make a hard thing just a little bit easier

People who are rude to children and families on planes can kick rocks.

Childfree pet owners (including empty-nesters) are so ridiculous with hosting young children
