Another example of first mover disadvantage, as the incumbents - lagging behind compliance delay - will get 3 more years to milk out their stranded assets, meaning cleaner options will remain more comparatively more expensive, longer. Some even have the audacity of calling it simplification 🙄

How do you define CDR? If you keep it open (both technological and natural), then "alongside" is an incentive at restauring degraded ecosystems and natural carbon sinks. Provided that it's not offsetting, but additional to mitigation, that is

I agree with your overall assessment, but the demand side/market creation aspect appear a bit weak to make clean products really cost competitive. The proposition doesn't get us out of fossil dependency as it stands, but there are good propositions that can put EU industry in a better direction

Adding baking soda in soaking water also helps make the beans or peas get softer, faster - I tested and approved for chickpeas, at least

supply chains for sorting, collecting & retreating have been dismantled so fast, creating big gaps where there used to be effective & efficient solutions. Milk's a good example, with empty bottles collection that used to be the norm & cleaning facilities that have massively shut down few decades ago
