Unlike the previous this seems to be from the perspective of the deviant one - everyone is looking at the viewer with a shocked, uneasy and concerned expression, verging on fear, as if the viewer has said or done something so unusual or dangerous they are all in the middle of turning around to panic. The movie is showing a starlet screaming in shock from a horror picture, in context it makes it seem as if even the projection is shocked and horrified by the viewer. It's almost the exact inverse of the previous painting ie shown from Gengar's perspective. This, also, is me.

with apologies to the late and beyond description great Charles Addams, Self Portrait (late 2025)
A modified version of one of Charles Addams earliest and best paintings, I can't find a definitive title but I've seen "Sad Movie" informally used, although I always preferred to think of it as newsreel footage or something. A theater full of period dressed in midcentury clothing formal ware sit watching a projected movie. Their faces are contorted in grief and sadness, and expressions of empathy or sympathetic pain are on every face in the crowded theater, except one person, all dressed in black. They are looking at the screen with an almost childlike glee, trying to hide a giggle. The person normally looks like Fester Addams, a bald male with sunken eyes and almost implike features, but it has been modified to the pokemon Gengar, a purple spikey ghost, wearing makeup. The lone figure's sadistic joy almost makes them look like they're a vampire or some other demonic otherized creature - everyone else is crying, how can they find it funny? But to contrast, in a room full of people crying, they are the only one having a good time, and their nonconformity is a source of joy and defiance. Yes I quite like this cartoon lol.

i have a shirt with this logo on it - i'm not a soccer fan or anything like that, but i keep it because with a jacket or w/e only the MIAMI is visible. which means that when i look at the mirror before heading out it reads I MAIM, which reminds me that's the energy i need to project some days.

lemmie give you a fer instance: the one after DKR, the (widely considered awful) Strikes Back, which is correctly remembered as hot garbage, still has probably my favorite capt marvel interpretations/sequences... ever? and it's entirely on the strength of the dialogue

That Two Thousand Yard Stare by Tom Lea. It depicts a WW2 soldier in an active battlefield, with tanks, bodies and smoke in the background. The soldier faces the viewer and stares directly into but past them with a haunting, empty gaze, as if the soldier had seen something so unthinkable they were still seeing it. Their disheveled appearance - unshaven, shirt torn and open, helmet askew and visibly dented as if shot - meets their distant and eerie glare.
