At the Broadview ICE detention center outside Chicago this afternoon, things are (relatively) calm.

A vet-organized protest is planned for 4-6pm. After 6, curfew is in place.

Masked agents enter the building. ~1 month ago we would've been able to photograph them from Beach St, but not anymore.

Across Chicagoland today, more kidnappings continue. Immigration agents have taken people from Waukegan, Elgin, Glendale Heights, potentially some other suburbs. In the city proper, feds just snatched someone near Peterson and Pulaski—and earlier today, they grabbed someone from Little Village.

I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.

I've seen them and I've been somewhat interested but i can't ever really justify it. even with peeling veggies and pre-cooking the tofu it takes me about 45 minutes to make japanese curry from start to finish, which is an acceptable time for a "quick" dinner for me since i work from home
