Wincing at the thought of the shipping cost.

Seems pretty straightforward - if you come to the US with nothing and don't know anyone, you're homeless. Until you find someone to take you in or earn enough money, the US homeless population has increased by one.

Other reforms too - we get stark daily reminders of why these annoyingly popular ideas are bad:

- Police should have no limits
- Some groups should not have rights or due process

Like every impeachment, at worst it gets all the Republicans on record as being OK with the behavior driving the impeachment.

Yeah, if I can describe what I want to write to an LLM, in enough detail that it writes it the way I want without too many mistakes, by then I have just written the thing.

I'm not a marketing guru but this sounds like as good a strategy as any.

Heck, even in the normie job market you just never hear anything back at all unless it's a job offer.

Besides racism of course, I think the reason they're gung-ho to deport everyone now now now, is they believe their own BS about "illegal aliens" voting.

It's been a steady drip of support+loss for a while. This will gain him 0 supporters, cost him some annoyingly small number, and soften support a bit among those remaining.

100%. For example, what if voters aren’t asking for a line graph showing retail theft going down, but to not see any context-free, undated mass shoplifting videos in their feeds? Good luck with that if our palantíri algo overlords don’t wish it.

If a past president had said this it would be assumed to be shorthand for "we've got a bill lined up for this and whipped enough votes, consulted the lawyers, etc" and it might well have still gotten reported as the shorthand.

You may make that assumption.

UHC is still denying claims at 2-3x the rate of others: www.wakemed.org/patients-and...
This situation is gonna have us paying out of pocket for specialists to maintain meds until they get back on network, and delay my wife's knee replacement because now it needs referred out.

My own 2020 piece on Dad Rockness, in which I offer the exact moment I think U2 dropped into that territory:

In Which I Both Decry, and Defend, the Concept of Dad Rock
I was thinking about the concept of “Dad Rock” and what it means, and when it is that a previously popular and/or relevant band goes full Dad Rock, and I realized that there was a parti…

You're not alone, I heard from a salesman that people come to the Jeep(tm) dealership thinking this.

Tech-startup quality standards. I absolutely don't want a car that's as reliable as typical software.

Yeah I've found that describing the thing I want to write well enough to delegate it to an LLM (or a human, really), is roughly equivalent to just writing the thing.

I never owned one but I did perf testing on them at QCOM for a while. Digging through CeLogs and recording screen taps with a high speed camera. Tried hacking up drivers to automate some of that but never succeeded.
