It's so useful! Even more so than my amps built in tuner, which itself is very nice, I should probably get a seperate tuner as well.

I have an Epiphone Les Paul and it is indeed a tank, that's why I bought my acoustic for travel to practice with, on top of needing an amp the LP is just not viable when I need to be on the road for work.

I have noticed that! But it at least gets close enough to read the proper note, even if it tells me to tune up or down, I've gone up and down the neck on all strings and it matches what it should be!

Nice with chords too as it only reads the right note if you play it well!

I'm aware this is the case of any tuner, but I just stumbled across this and it seems so useful, why did no one tell me this? Also wasn't likely to find that on my electric cause I use the tuner built into the amp for that.

Bolt being used in place of a sheer pin was backed off pretty bad and getting ready to yeet itself through the chute, glad I caught that XD

Still gotta align it, and there's some small things still, but I should be able to drive it now hopefully.

Been a moment since I've been looking at that stuff, I knew 331 was a stroker, but I figured it was the same rods but not bored .040 over like a 347, but there are also multiple ways of doing things!

And I have a lot of stuff, my parents used to have the same exact truck and I also have the 88 XD

I grew up in a Ford family and spent a lot of time working on them when I still wrenched XD

331 would be just a bored out 302 if I recall, so my engine minus the stroker kit! I wanna build the 302 going in the Bronco as well, but can't justify the money, stock should be fine in that little thing x3

Projects!

1985 Bronco 2 waiting for a V8 and axles/drivetrain from an 88 F150

1993 F150 with a 347 stroker and the 5 speed from an F350 with a Mustang ECU

2007 Focus ZX3 with a 2.3 that has been beefed up and turbo charged, likely to be the most powerful of the bunch

To be fair it's one of these and not a full on hoist, but it is so much nicer than jack and jack stands XD

I agree, winter is indeed a miserable cunt, though I preferred when we just got cold weather instead of the kinda cold then warm we've had the last couple years, makes things icy as heck.
November 23, 2025 at 6:01 PM
Definitely makes me want to get one of my projects on the road, as I plan for it to be my winter back up as the only other one with 4wd.

I could have put off the repairs to my daily but I still had my dad's Ranger after doing repairs on it so the timing seemed right to just deal with the big oil leaks, and then as things you expect to go quickly tend to, it snowballed to being on my hoist for a month :3
November 23, 2025 at 5:55 PM
It's starting to feel that way, this go round alone I've done:

-New winter tires
-Resealed timing cover and oil pan
-Replaced power steering pump and high pressure line
-Replaced both belts as well as the main belt idler and tensioner
-Replaced front seat bar links

Oh I'm well aware, I own 4 vehicles and do work on at least 4 that aren't mine regularly, my fridge is covered in Rock Auto magnets XD

This exhaust has survived surprisingly well, 20 years in an area with a lot of road salt and currently 308k kms on the odometer, I won't act like it owes me anything, but it's definitely getting to that point.

Still waiting on parts that aren't crap for his F150 as well, and I have a coolant flush to do on @coffeespots.ca's ride when I can get to that.

It just vaporizes the moment the wire touches the pipe, I was able to build up from the bracket and kind of make it work, but it looks ugly as sin and is still leaking, decided the time and effort wasn't worth it, especially with other work to finish up and new problems to figure out.
November 23, 2025 at 1:32 AM
It also had an odd hiccup on my test drive, assuming I need to do some relearning after I replaced the crank sensor and it sat for like a month with the battery disconnected.
