“Starmer’s conference speech in September took on Reform as “a fight about who we are as a country”, adding: “It goes to the soul of our future.” It’s the same defining challenge across much of Europe. So where did that fight go?”

“Everyone has a list of discontentment over what Labour fails to do. Electoral reform tops mine, an emergency now Reform could win with less than a third of the vote. Preventing that is Labour’s elemental duty, whatever it takes, with its majority & years of time”

Better just paint over Mickey Mouse like the Tories did…
Lots of Labour MPs asking Mahmood tonight to rule out child detention. She won’t rule it out. That’s because forced removals of families will mean children in detention for periods.

Home Office ruling out deportation of lone minors but the changes will certainly mean more detention of children.

A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

And instead of blaming Angola for our issues, with the £billions saved from joining Schengen, Britain can contribute to the EU - African Union summit next week in Luanda, Angola and join the €150 billion development programme funded by the EU.

Sheer cruelty on display in the Home Secretary's proposed new asylum laws, which could see refugee families with children suddenly uprooted and deported after spending years rebuilding their lives in Britain. Shameful capitulation to Reform's agenda at the expense of the most vulnerable.

Starmer’s anti-asylum policies show how utterly clueless he is about the right-wing media’s role in politics.

He’s trying to fix a “problem” contrived by Farage, GB News and The Telegraph. He’ll never win, because ultimately he’s fighting a ghost – he’s fighting something that doesn’t really exist

The dead hand of Farage is all over Brexit and it’s made us all poorer. The idea that he should now be cast as the saviour of an economy he damaged is ridiculous and only fools would let him have a second chance to finish the job.
