#portland Cathedral Park Report: there appears to be some kind of Burning-Man-Adjacent dance party getting started. DJ is playing a mix of dub-techno and acid house. This is a little more activity than we usually see in the park, but I think we’re below the National Guard deployment threshold.

Cathedral Park #Portland dispatch. Very quiet out there on this overcast Saturday. A couple of people walking dogs. Light traffic on the bridge. Once again: no fires, no unrest. All of the shops in our little St Johns neighborhood downtown are open and it’s a normal weekend day.

Friday night in Downtown Portland: a play at Portland Center Stage, delicious pho at Luc Lac. The city appears to be full of interesting people having fun. Nothing burning down (at all).

#Portland on Friday night. Not burning down (at all).

Date night in Downtown #Portland part 2. Pho at Luc Lac. This restaurant is right across from the Federal Building. Zero unrest. Nothing on fire.

Date night in Downtown Portland. Larry Owens was amazing in “Primary Trust” at the Armory Theater. Buildings are made of normal stuff, nothing is on fire. Lots of people were out getting dinner. No signs of unrest.

I’m surprised the WSJ printed this. Police reports indicate that most days, there are less than 50 protesters at the ICE facility in Portland. The max was around 200 a week or so ago. Not exactly Shays’ Rebellion. www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

Cathedral Park Portland unrest update: there is no unrest. The park is mostly empty except for a few dogs and their owners at the off leash area further down towards the river. #Portland

There’s the scene at a taco place on Sandy last night. Very chill, if not actually a little boring.

I try to post a daily update from Cathedral Park. So far, no revolutionary anarchist activity of any kind. Just dog walkers, engagement photos, and things of that nature.

Nothing but squirrels and crows today in Cathedral Park. A couple dog walkers earlier. There might be some engagement photos later today since the weather is nice. Definitely not noticing any insurrections or anything burning to the ground. My neighbor did throw a peanut at me as a joke.

#WarRavagedPortland report. Another quiet day in Cathedral park. The squirrels are out and about looking for nuts. There are some crows as well. I went out for tacos last night and nothing seemed to be burning to the ground (at all). There was a guy in a Cadillac driving like kind of an asshole.

Cathedral park report from #WarRavagedPortland. Looks like the “Reign of Terror” might be more of a rain of water today. I saw some caution tape and thought it might be a crime scene, but they were just putting down some new grass. Otherwise it’s pretty quiet. A couple people walking around.

St. Johns Bridge Portland war dispatch: rush hour traffic moving pretty well across the bridge. There was an old man with a straw hat walking on the sidewalk. Someone has a shopping cart or something at the top of the stairs out of the park, but I don’t think we’re quite ready to call Special forces

Cathedral Park continues to be quiet this overcast Friday morning. A couple of dog walkers out. No sign of battles raging. Not even any cars with loud exhaust. Just crows cawing and the the low rumble of traffic on the bridge. #WarRavagedPortland

Behind my apartment there is this giant boat. No one seems to know who owns it or why it is there. Sometimes at night there is a light on inside. The other day I saw an old man cutting limbs off the short trees next to the boat. That’s the first person I’ve seen inside the fence in 5 years.

Cathedral Park in the calm between dog-walking hour and engagement photo shoots in the afternoon. A couple with metal detectors takes advantage of the break in the action to hunt for treasure.

A calm has descended on Cathedral Park in #WarRavagedPortland after dog walking hour. No more floofs and puppers for now, but if we zoom in we can see the dreaded Weekend Metal Detector Couple! No doubt looking for their buried cache of weapons.

William Pester, the Hermit of Palm Springs ca. 1917. He is playing a Knutsen Hawaiian-style guitar. An early hippie. There are some potential problematic details if you dig into his biography but the photo is striking. This is the vibe I’m going for if I survive the apocalypse.
