Geriatric millennial, he/him, I think too much about the Timberwolves.
I think you’re probably right but I’m still hoping the wolves can get him

I’d give up ddv and rob for Coby, yeah. I think it’s pretty fair price for him, too. You lose some defense and grit but gain ball handling, exactly what the wolves need

Like, one of these

You can think this change is good/bad for the league as a whole (it probably is good!) and still recognize it’s shitty for some markets, or you can do whatever that was. People in MN know how to deal with the cold, but that doesn’t mean they want to.

I would say my point is less “they can’t possibly make this work logistically” and more “this is going to have a huge negative impact on some cold weather teams”. Even games in March and November, while playable, aren’t always going to be particularly comfortable for fans and players.
November 14, 2025 at 2:56 AM
Obviously the first half is just gutter racism but I actually agree with the second half of this
November 14, 2025 at 2:21 AM
It is, but I’d suggest searching for the “highlights” of the team USA game they played at Allianz in February a couple years ago—it did not look like a fun experience for anyone involved

Oh, I was talking about the gap in the season in Russia, it’s 3 months off (that I see)
November 14, 2025 at 12:06 AM
Maybe I’m missing something (I’m no expert) but I’m seeing no matches between December 7th and march 1st this year. Do they do tournaments or something in that break?
November 13, 2025 at 11:42 PM
True, but they just take 3 months off entirely, not sure if that is MLS’ plan.
November 13, 2025 at 11:14 PM
I would disagree that extreme cold is easier than extreme heat, but either way there are certainly tradeoffs, there’s no painless choice. Maybe the Loons can play a game or two at US Bank Stadium in the depths of winter
November 13, 2025 at 10:07 PM
If the best solution is just to have fans go 3 months without a home game, so be it. Maybe you could have one special “ice bowl”-branded game in late December or something, make it an event so there’s at least one in there before winter break

I appreciate this idea but Saint Paul is colder than those cities, and soccer is not (American) football, it does not work as well in bitter cold. Of course, that one team’s issue shouldn’t prevent the whole league from shifting things, its just a real issue they’ll have to resolve
November 13, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Not sure how that’s going to work for Minnesota FC’s outdoor stadium. They gonna play games in -10 degree weather?
November 13, 2025 at 9:31 PM
That’s fair, and hopefully the DFL is prepped for a long race. On Peggy, I suspect many/most politicians fair worse vs “generic opposing party” than vs actual candidates they can run against, and I do think that senate seat is a more important race overall
November 3, 2025 at 2:49 PM
It’ll have been 20 years since a Republican won a race in mn, and 2026 is going to be a very anti-GOP year nationwide. Not saying there’s no chance or anything but you’re describing a, what? 1-in-20 chance? 1-in-10?

which trade do you mean—the initial Rudy trade or the KAT for Julius swap? Could argue either was bad, of course (and I wasn’t happy with either when they occurred, too, I’ve just made my piece with them)
October 30, 2025 at 5:27 AM
I think I prefer KAT to Gobert stylistically, in terms of watching, but I don’t think there’s a lot of evidence that KAT contributes more towards winning. Of course, that’s assuming Rudy stays at his current level. But KAT also may start regressing, too
October 30, 2025 at 5:11 AM
It’s fine to wish they had kept KAT but they were really choosing Naz and Gobert (or Randle and Gobert) for KAT, salary-wise
October 30, 2025 at 5:04 AM
There are guys who are both legit defenders and who draw charges, like draymond. I’m ok with a little respect on his whistle. But Reaves? C’mon
