And again i've only read the preview, but despite it being more accurate to reality, i'm not sure the intent of those graphs or your writing is to inform readers that the employee median compensation is rising, while the CEO's is dropping? Is that accurate for me to say about the writing?

My cynical impression is that you would rather not depict a CEO compensation trending downward. Or possibly that a number you may have previously reported turned out to be off of the reality of what hit the bank accounts by about 10 million / 50%
But it leads me to think you are misleading readers

Not a troll it is a genuine criticism. You're citing the proxy statement, I don't have confidence you are reading the proxy statement. Which might be the standard it's not my profession.
You are communicating the numbers in a way the is not an accurate depiction of reality that it can be. Why

Compensation Actually Paid is a searchable term in the filings you're citing. I'm asking why you use the equity granted number and not the compensation actually paid, given how different they can be.

In the recent article the way you invoke the median salary and compare it to the CEO compensation you depicted a trend. But you choose not to point out that over that graph, the CEO's compensation has decreased, while the employee median income has increased. Why is that?

"Total direct compensation paid" is also disclosed in the same filing and it represents the amount the recipient actually recieves, rather than the granted.
Given that it exists in the filing you read, why do you use the other figure?

I'd concede he is a far better writer than I. I feel vindicated for having this impression:
"The sloppiness of the numbers he uses, plus lack of analysis to infer from filings makes him unapproachable. When I read his work, he deliberate writes in a way to depict a certain amount of hopelessness...

Regarding your confusion around employee median salary. Was there a reason you omitted YoY Headcount? Could you speculate on how an increasing head count might impact median salary?
Why didn't you use the 'compensation actually paid' metric?
Why doesnt your graph use employee total compensation?

The difference between us is that I believe the artist was wronged and needs remittance, they have a slam dunk case for it, people would take it on contigency.
On the otherhand, it has nothing to do with "it happens anyways" philosophically you dont believe in IP copyright protections.

While definitely a poorly worded lead in. But the strength of QA is that there are so many things that need to be tested, someone with no prior experience can be utilized effectively within days by focusing on easy tasks first. Later they can develop skills for more technical/advanced QA

He's a youtuber with no experience to even be aware of how awful the idea is. How poorly thought out it is, people like him are there exact reason that there is this gap of "why dont the devs listen to us", because youtubers dont have the patience to sit down and understand how much their ideas suck

If anything, the other person is giving you terrible advice, you don't need 5 options and a bunch of nuance and context, you need to get started on learning
You have ADHD? Definitely dont try to teach yourself C,C++ or Rust, that person who suggested that is actively harming you. Learn Python first

There's nothing to gain to accept ADHD as an excuse, it sucks. They're gonna fail sometimes, it is gonna be harder and none of it is fair.
But don't provide them the comfort to succumb to the ADHD, do something about it, even if you fail, dont ever fall back on it as a comfort excuse

Yep, I have a mild ADHD, didn't take medicate for decades, i've been successful enough to mask my weaknesses, taking medicine was massively helpful, im in the US it sucked to get.
They don't need a sympathy pat on the back, they need achieveable goals. And the easiest possible skills to learn

We don't need to abstract this to be universal advice. This is a person who wants to get out of a shit job. Learning to code and going to game dev is a horrible plan of action.
Asking them to be self taught in C is setting them up for failure, they need an easy start point to get immediate success

You can choose to interpret is as mean or not. It makes no difference to me, i'm giving you legitimate and honest advice.
Don't use ADHD as an excuse for not doing things. I have it too. Either you learn despite the extra challenge, or seek medical help.
Learn python, get small victories

But he's using ADHD as an excuse(i mean big deal we all have it, power through it or go get some Adderall XR like the rest of us). Best bet now is to focus on something that can quickly be utilized as a skill in part for better jobs as soon as possible before going too deep.

Definitely learn python, and go hard into it. Find something you want to make and start learning the python to make it.
Game dev can be a 'fun' way to learn and thats one way, but it would be faster to learn more general purpose to be able to look for a better job. Refine down to game dev later

I wouldn't read too much into it anyways. The langauge difference and the complexity of it all. Generative AI can range from scripts, boilerplate work, or auto-lodding updates.
I'm just not aware of professionals who think this will replace much, at most it will slow the growth in costs.

Ross's proposal is in reality even more pro-corpo than anything I've ever possibly imagined.
His proposals would give such a massive competitive advantage to me that I would never dare lobby a politican for.
This is what happens when a moronic youtuber talks with no game dev experience

Especially with no other engineers on the project(although I think we all look back at our old code and say 'what bum wrote this'), or no real plan for sequels or improving your 'engine'. Make what works with the skills you have.
And the next time around if you learned more, itll be easier

Learn Python to start. Or goto a university for some computer science if you're going to go the C/CPP route.
The fact that you are asking on social media instead of just doing it, is evidence you should focus on a higher level language and get your feet wet.The ones who can start with C, dont ask

The reality is this is just another moronic youtuber who has no understanding of how game development works, and worse, he seems to be too stupid to even have access to talk to the people with those who have the technical profiency to explain to him all the problems in his idea.
