Corringham Light Railway Kitson T109 of 1884 at Corringham Station. Very early photo of the locomotive as acquired. Before the rear cab cutouts were filled in, and standard sprung buffers were fitted.

This day Nov 30th (1992) Once a major hub for passengers destined for Australia, South Africa & the Far East, Tilbury Riverside Railway Station closed. The platforms & carriage sidings have since been removed, leaving the station building which is protected grade II listed.

Corringham Light Railway 0-4-0T "Cordite", ex West Lancashire Railway, built by Kitson & Co., works No T109 of 1893, arrived at CLR by sea. Withdrawn C1914, scrapped by 1935.

Kynochtown Station around 1901. The lions on top of the main gates can be seen behind the station buildings. Which were similar to the Corringham Station buildings, but were made from wood.

"The remains of Coryton Station on the former Corringham Light Railway on 23 October 1987 with Thomas Hill Vanguard (works No.291V of 1980) in the platform. The branch line closed to passengers on 1st March 1952".

Compare & Contrast? This late view of Corringham Station is interesting, as the Women's Toilets appear to have been shortened. With the entrance moved and coping stones removed. Maybe due to subsidence?

Stanford-Le-Hope Station before the 1918 fire. With a mobile section of the platform on wheels, to fill the gap when the platform was extended over the London Road. Later the station was completely rebuilt on the other side of the road.
