Trichopetalum (asparagoid) has more observations than Trichopetalum (millipede) so every time I’ve uploaded one I put it on as the plant because that comes up first and I had to go fix it. this little beebee deserves better than identity theft

Massachusetts recently had a contest to redesign its flag that allowed people to submit their own designs. One of the submissions was this one, featuring the state dinosaur Podokesaurus holyokensis, but for some reason it did not advance to the later voting rounds. I am still not sure why.

Probably actually Lordotus pulchrissimus. The difference between the two species is infuriatingly subtle, and of course they're sympatric
