I seem to collect Roman Emperor Gallienus coins. This one has a great reverse with two captives on either side of a trophy. It was minted in Lugdunum (modern day Lyon in France) in 258 - 259 A.D. Gallienus co-ruled with his father Valerian until the elder was captured by the Sasanian Empire. #roman

Emperor Caracalla was the eldest son of Emperor Septimius Severus. He co-ruled with his younger brother Geta after his father's death in modern-day York, England. The co-rule didn't work out so well, and Caracalla had Geta murdered in their mother's arms.

Emperor Macrinus ruled for a year and some change. He was the first Emperor to never visit Rome during his rule. He was also the first to not be from the senatorial class. He was a true outsider, and perhaps this is why he was eliminated so quickly.
