@richposting.bsky.social A smart friend of mine pointed out that it's possible to circumvent the banning of express support for a specific campaign by stating the contrapositive: "I do not support inaction on Palestine." Pretty sure they'd still find a way to punish that though in time...

@richposting.bsky.social Do you think it's fair to say that, with the obvious caveat UK society & that of North Korea are completely different in many ways, the attitude of the media toward the royal family is remarkably similar? The sycophancy, the whitewashing... it's scarily alike...

I am always amazed by the number of readers who have no idea what authors make on their books. Most think we are raking it in. Unless you are one of the authors in the rarefied air at the top, basically you’re making hobby money. You have to love writing to stick with it.

The analysis here is perfect, namely that the foundation of fascism is a legislative agenda denuding people of rights on the basis of an arbitrary characteristic, in this case, gender identity.

TERF Island: the embarassing truth about Britain's Trans Panic.
Condemning an entire category of people on the basis that one of them might commit a crime is the very essence of prejudice. And that prejudice plays straight into the hands of the far right.

So Starmer's response to voter-drain in Reform's direction is... to tacitly endorse and vindicate Reform's dumbass bigotry by agreeing with it? I'm not a brilliant tactician but even I can see that's a doomed strategy.

I've recently started an online course on research methodologies, and it's proving a positive endeavour. I feel fully immersed in the academic process for the first time in a long while. It's helped me to develop a solid research proposal, which could form the basis of a PhD, or book. Good times.

Trump then paused tariffs & she made thousands in profit.

Oooh look, exactly as predicted the rich with resources to spare bought up thousands of cheap stocks and suddenly they've made enormous profit when the prices rise again.

He doesn't give a fuck about the economy or the country because it'll never affect him, but he can buy stocks and shares cheap while it crashes and make massive profit when prices rise again.
Why should he care about the country or anyone else?

One of the reasons all polling on immigration is suspect is because so many citizens do not think of the immigrants they personally interact with (co-workers, family members etc) as "immigrants". "Immigrants" are the folk-devils of propaganda, not the people you know. #leopardseatingfaces

To people who "don't see colour": Being white has never been illegal. Advocacy for the same life expectancy for POC as white ppl is not a "divisive" tactic, but a fair & reasonable demand. Wanting social parity is not arrogant "entitlement," it's a justifiable expectation we should take seriously.
